Letter of Recommendation from Monica Borgman
April 2, 2009
Dear Scholarship Reviewer,
I am writing in support of Brenda McClintic. Our connection is through Isabella County 4-H Youth Development Programs. I have known Brenda for nine years and it has been amazing to watch her learn, grow, teach, and serve. Brenda is heavily involved in 4-H, and her school and community. She is driven by her service to others and through this she has developed strong leadership, citizenship, and community skills.
Her leadership is demonstrated through her involvement in her 4-H club, and her teen leadership projects. Brenda has been a 4-H camp counselor for 3 years. She has a wonderful rapport with the children at camp and has a strong work ethic. She is always willing to volunteer for extra duties. She has help the offices of vice president, secretary, treasurer in her 4-H club. She has been a teen superintendent at the Isabella County fair for 3 years and currently serves as a teen representative on the Isabella County 4-H Program Council.
Her service to others in the community is outstanding. She has volunteered for years serving pancakes at Maple Syrup Festival in Shepherd, Christmas Outreach with the Shepherd Fire Department, visiting nursing homes, and participating in road side clean up with the fire department. Her 4-H Club is responsible for the Baby Animal Barn at the Isabella County fair and Brenda has helped out at that event for 9 years.
Brenda has contributed greatly to our 4-H programming over the years...and always with high energy and a smile.
I highly recommend Brenda for this scholarship.
Sincerely,
Monica Borgman

Letter of Recommendation for Brenda McClintic
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Kevin D. Salisbury and I am a volunteer Fire Fighter, First Responder for the Shepherd Tri-Twp Fire Department. I am also, currently, the fire Department's Association President, and the Chair person for the fire department's needy Christmas. I am recommending Brenda McClintic on a personal level, for I have known Brenda for over 8 years.
Brenda is an exceptional and hard working young woman that can be counted on in many areas of everyday life, and that of the fire department. Brenda is great with kids, and has sat for my own children on numerous occasions. Brenda will play games, color and care for them just as I would. I have no troubles leaving my children in Brenda's care, as I known they are in good hands while with Brenda. Brenda has been involved in the fire department for her entire life as her father has been a member since before she was born. Brenda, while being a student in high school and actively participating in sports, is always willing to help in fire department activities. Brenda helps with the various functions that the fire department does on a regular basis. During Fire Prevention week, we hold an open house for the community, Brenda is always there willing to help set up, serve snacks, and help clean up. When it comes to Christmas time, again the fire department helps the community, Brenda is always willing to help shop for families, help wrap and deliver gifts, and again helps see this project through to the end. While not currently a member of the departments, or The Women's Auxiliary, Brenda is also willing to helping at the station, be it for cleaning or painting, Brenda asks how she can help.
Brenda has exceptional work habits and a great ability to prioritize tasks; she is energetic, hard working, and willing to help at any task placed in front of her. Brenda always takes care of what is important, such as her academics and still seems to make time for all the extras that she enjoys. If I ever needed help, I would not hesitate to ask Brenda for assistance, as she will always be there to help.
Sincerely,
Kevin D. Salisbury

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in reference to Brenda McClintic, a senior and former student of mine at Shepherd High School.
I have had the pleasure of having Brenda as a student in my Personal Finance and Financial Planning classes earlier this year. The first thing that comes to mind about Brenda is her quick smile, and her easy-going, friendly personality. It was a pleasure to have her in class because she is a hard worker, very helpful to others, and strives to do her very best. Throughout her high school career, Brenda has been involved in many activities. She was a captain of the pom team this year, as well as a member of the track and bowling teams, she also served as a counselor at 6th grade camp this year. Outside of school she has years of involvement in 4-H, including serving as a 4-H Council Member, 4-h Teen Superintendent, and a 4-H Teen Leader. Her involvement in 4-H and as a pom captain has allowed her to gain and demonstrate her leadership ability, not only at school, but in the community as well. As for Brenda's personality, she is dependable, takes initiative, and follows through on any tasks assigned to her. She is also very respectful and courteous to faculty and students, and serves as a great role model for the younger people she comes into contact with.
I have no doubt that Brenda will be successful in her future plans to attend Mid Michigan Community College to pursue a nursing degree. If you have questions please feel free to contact me at (989) 828-6601 to speak on Brenda's behalf.
Sincerely,
Lisa Antcliff
